Frequently asked
- Is the editor really free forever?
- Yes — unlimited figures, unlimited collaborators, the full 500+ primitive library, and every export format. No trial, no seat limits, no feature gating. We make money only on the optional AI agent ($20/seat/mo) and Enterprise deployments.
- What exactly does the AI agent do?
- Natural-language figure generation. Describe the scene (“a macrophage presenting antigen to a T cell, IFNγ arrow between them”) and it drafts a publication-ready figure from the primitive library. You still edit, recolour, and annotate in the regular editor.
- Do I need a seat for every lab member?
- Only if they use the AI agent. Viewer, commenter, and full-editor roles on the free plan don't need a seat — add the whole lab at zero cost. Seats apply only to people actively generating figures with AI.
- What's included in Enterprise?
- SSO / SAML, audit logs, admin controls, custom branding, an optional on-premise deployment for institutions with data-residency requirements, and a dedicated support + SLA. For pharma companies and universities with compliance needs. Contact sales for pricing.
- Can I export figures to SVG / PDF / PNG?
- All three, on every plan — no watermarks, print-resolution. Submission-ready for Nature, Cell, eLife, and preprint servers.
